The School System Sucks

After watching Claire's video on the educational system in America vs. the educational system in Finland, I've come to realize that our school system is worse than I originally thought it was. We overwhelm students with extremely tough courses, overloads of homework, long hours, and this constant pressure to succeed. While in Finland, they start school later, allow for more mental breaks between courses, and don't solely rely on standardized test scores. Students are more than just a test score. Why can't America realize this, why can't we change?

  1. I agree school has recently becomes more about passing than learning the material. Attending a high ranking school helps u in the long run like college apps but at the moment as school gets more competitive you don't really take time to absorb what you learn. I think that if you really want to be the number one school you have to worry about the students because if you don't stress the students out as much they will concentrate more and will lead them to better grades and higher test scores which will also help make the school be the best.
