Teen Pregnancy
I think the topic of teen pregnancy isn't talked about enough, especially in this community. Most of the time the discussion focuses on how stupid and immature the teens are for getting themselves in the situation and what they're going to do with the baby. However, I think there's a lot more that needs to be looked at when discussing teen pregnancy. We obviously know the why and how part of it, but I think it's important to look at the sex-education background of the teenagers who are getting pregnant. A lot of schools don't have a detailed sex education program that gets enough information to the students about different forms of contraception. I also think that there is an unfair double standard for teen parents. Many people who believe that no matter what age you are or what situation you are in, abortion is wrong. Many people also frown upon teen parents and judge them, publicly shaming them for their situations. I don't think it's fair to tell teens to not get abortions but also tell them they aren't responsible enough to raise a child. Obviously teen pregnancy is not an ideal situation for anyone, however it's no one else's business except for the parents and it's up to them to make a decision for themselves and for their baby.
