Lengths Taken To The Impossible

Reflecting on what we all had learned during those grueling months of our Holocaust movie viewing, I still wonder what drives people to do the things they do, ranging from good things or bad things. Personally, I feel that it is easier by a mile to state what drives people to do good things. Usually, the quick response for them is because their parents are a good influence on them or simply that the person making the decision is a good person. Truly, it's easier to say the reason behind making good decisions because no one wants to truly believe that anyone makes bad ones. Not just bad ones, but ones that are in a way unthinkable, inhuman, and almost impossible for anyone to inflict upon his fellow man. Which leads me to the question behind why Hitler committed what he did. In short, it was pretty much to make Germany full-German, an idea of a perfect country. Something perfect for Hitler. Unfortunately, nothing's perfect, so what lengths are people willing to go to in order to reach a state of perfection. What I believe is that in order to get to the point of perfection, people are going to do anything they can in order to get there, regardless of the consequences. Perfection is impossible to gain, and the only thing those can do to get to their idea of "perfection" is to do extreme things, much like Hitler and his Holocaust.
