I am Jordan Davis
I am Jordan Davis. What does that truly mean? I could have been in the same place Jordan Davis was in, in his last moments at that gas station with michael dunn shooting at me. When I go out and driving I blast my music, but is that a crime. no its not and it shouldn't be, even if its "gangster music" I listen to hip hop music and yes it can be a little much, but no one likes to say shit when people blasting that old ugly ass country music, or that annoying yelling rock music. Because it wasn't about the music at all, it was about race and thats the real reason that Jordan Davis was killed.

It is interesting that you bring up this point about how anyone could have been in his situation and that this could have happened to anyone. I believe that stereotyping was a huge factor into this shooting because Dunn automatically assumed the worst of these kids. Your point about how different types of music are accepted while others aren't is also a very important thing to this case. If those boys were blasting country music, would this whole shooting have happened? This is a very important aspect to think about.
ReplyDeleteI am Jordan Davis.I agree anyone could of been those kids. They honestly were at the wrong spot at the wrong time.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with your view on this topic. Anyone could've been in the situation but the minorities would be the ones who will be more likely to experience something like this.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with what you are saying about the killing of Jordan Davis. The part that stands out most to me is when you say "this could have happened to anyone". This stood out to me so much because me myself just being a young African American teenage boy whereas we are probably stereotyped the most as it already is. And I also agree with what Andres said above that most likely it would happen to people of color
