Before our case study test last Friday, I decided to look up a few of the people who were involved in the cases to see what they were up to recently. One of the first few people I searched up was Pamela Smart, the crazy blonde teacher who had sexual relations with a 15 year old student who later killed her husband. Currently Pamela Smart is serving out her life sentence in Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for Women, a maximum security prison, in New York. Since the verdict, Ms. Smart has been going on TV interviews trying to prove her innocence to the nation; there is even a website dedicated to helping free Ms. Smart with the hashtag #FreePamSmart. After all this time in prison, Ms. Smart still declares her innocence and continues to fight for her freedom. I was really amazed that Ms. Smart is still trying to prove she was wrongly convicted, but then again, if the only thing in your future was life behind bars without the possibility of parole, wouldn't you do the same?
