Obamacare no more
Since Donald Trump has taken his position in the white house, he has already signed many Executive Orders. The other day I was going through instagram and saw that Trump had just signed an Executive Order to get rid of ObamaCare. When I saw this I wasn't really shocked and knew it was about time that this would happen. The thing that worried me was that so many people had depended on ObamaCare and what happens to them now? Also I heard that once they had gotten rid of the Obamacare the republicans said they would replace it with something that is better. At the moment I'm not sure whats really going on up until this point but I'm sure that they haven't done anything about it.

Hitler and Nazi Germany
While watching the documentary on the Nazis, I found it interesting how Hitler kept Nazi Germany together for as long as he did. He was extremely unorganized and didn't really have a definite structure of his government. People wanted his attention and a position in his government. He had thousands of letters sent to him each day asking him for favors or reporting something. He had interesting ways of completing his work and seemed very isolated from the rest of the world. Hitler didn't really have a lot of control over what happened in Germany like T4. I think that one of the biggest things that kept Nazi Germany together at the time was propaganda. It helped the Nazis turn people against the Jews, homosexuals, and those who didn't look or act like the ideal citizen.

We are going to be a fascist state
Trump was elected because people were unhappy with the current state of affairs. This might be because they wanted him to clear out corruption or because they supported his racist, sexist, and bigoted views. Either way, this is eerily similar to the platforms Hitler and Mussolini ran on, as was pointed out by several different people. He championed the banner of "America first!", an extremely anti-semitic phrase. He was even supported by the KKK. However, although all of this was concerning, it had yet to be actual action toward a fascist government.
Things only went downhill once Trump was inaugurated, though. It started with Trump's inauguration speech, which was written by white nationalist Steve Bannon and reiterated his "America first" rhetoric. He then instituted a possible gag order on the National Park Service after they tweeted about how small the crowd at his inauguration was. (Which they have proudly been defying, by the way.) Such gag orders might well be against federal law. This is not anywhere near the worst of it. Trump banned immigration from several primarily Muslim countries, allegedly to prevent terrorism. (For a lovely cherry on top, it also seems designed to benefit his businesses.) This ban didn't just prevent potential immigration; it also blocked current green card holders from returning to the U.S. Following this, there were protests at airports across the nation. Luckily, the ACLU, along with others, managed to obtain a temporary stay on the green card immigration ban. However, despite a court ruling, customs officials at Dulles International Airport have continued to hold people.
This situation is a constitutional crisis, when one branch of the government (executive) defies the orders of another (judicial). These circumstances are also eerily similar to how Hitler started stripping Jews of their rights, as well as how he took power away from the Weimar Republic.
We've given Trump his chance, and he started with textbook moves to seize power and create a fascist government. I'd rather not wait for our Reichstag Fire.

El Chapo in the US!!!
Is it just me or is it a little weird that El Chapo was moved to the US at such a time like this. El Chapo yes has been escaping Mexico's prisons all the time and they moved him to US so its harder for that to happen. El Chapo has also said in the past that he wants to kill our "president" Donald Trump, isn't kinda sketchy that all of the states in the US chapo could have been moved to he goes to New York. New York will be Trump homes for the next couple of years instead of the white house, because he wants to stay close to his kid or is suffering from some disabilities and wants to see him more and see him go to school. So when if El Chapo escapes again, isn't bad that he will be even more closer to Trump and where he lives. I have been talking to my friends about this whole thing, and we think their could be a conspiracy behind this situation. Trump vice president, wants to make all drugs legal, so if trump is killed, the vice president will take over. That means he would make all drugs legal, and el chapo would basically be one of the most powerful people in the world and could work with the US government to be their supplier. He would become their like second man, and he would basically be so powerful and run mexico and their government. Think about it, when if this actually happened, I guess its free el chapo 2017.
our women aren't pussy cats
Oh man, our women aren't scared. Since Trump won its been crazy, women marching, women aren't scared and they won't stop. They know this man doesn't respect women for who they are, he clearly says he grabs what he wants with no ask. Now tell me do you want you're kids growing up see this man say disrespectful stuff about women and how they are less than us men. How any man can grab what he wants because they are men and they are women. That's not right I see this and it gets me angry knowing that this man is our president and we can't do anything about it till 4 years are up. FDT and I'll say it proudly till someone makes me shut up.

The Chicago Hate Crime
Not too sure if any of you guys saw this story in the news about two weeks ago in Chicago, but this is a pretty big story there right now and it's been on my mind for these past two weeks. I'll post a link below if you would like to read the full story but basically a group of African American adults kidnapped, bound, humiliated, tortured, cut his hair, and verbally abused an 18 year old boy who is special needs. They posted a video on Facebook of them beating him, forcing him to drink from a toilet, and yelling "fuck Donald Trump" and "fuck white people". I understand that no body is really happy about Donald Trump being elected into office but this is absolutely wrong. It's absolutely disgusting. I myself have a sibling with special needs and if something like this happened to him, he would never be able to recover mentally. He would be in therapy for PTSD for probably the remainder of his life (my brother has sever autism). So, reading this story makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Hate is not the way to express your feelings toward Donald Trump, especially in this way, harming someone so innocent who has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with Trump being elected. Currently the four perpetrators are being held without bail, which is pretty unusual but completely justified for a hate crime to this extent, and are awaiting a court hearing this week.

Women Rights in the Future
Honestly I just wanna say Sorry, because women your rights are fucking gone with this sexist president in office. Like its so sad the fact he is in office and the fact he has no respect for women it makes it worse. Did you know that Trump doesn't think that women are educated enough or strong enough to run for president, and to even fight in the military. This man made a statement saying that he was changed the rule saying that women are not allowed to fight in the army, because he thinks they are not able to fight in a war. Trump is sick motherfucker and his views on women disgust me. I was born and raised to respect women, view women as goddess, and without women there would nothing in this world who would make the babies, Trump ugly ass can't even speak for more than 10 minutes, so how could you talk about women being uneducated. This fool has a wife who is the dumbest women on earth, because Trump probably treats her like shit and tell her you are inferior to him. She couldn't even write her own speech, she had the nerve to steal michelle obama's speech word from word. Like we learned in like 6th grade not to use other people work. Trump I've never hated someone so much in my life and if I saw him fucking try to touch one of the women in my family like how he said in that video, I would snap his neck and I put that on GOD. He is not my president and I wish he would try to say something to me about what I can and cant say.

Farewell Obama
Saying goodbye to our 44th President of the United States was possibly one of the hardest farewells that America has had to deal with. I was very saddened that The Obama's were leaving The White House especially knowing who was about to step foot in. I wish that there was a third term that Obama could serve the United States in but apparently that's not how politics work. I am not completely sure how I feel when it comes to Trump making decisions for an entire nation, but I know damn well that I would've much rather preferred Hillary Clinton to take on that role. I sincerely fear for the safety of this nation. Who knows what Trump has in store for the entire nation (most likely horrible decisions). Anyhow, I thought I'd share a bit about my insight on our new President. I know there are people out there that don't necessarily agree with my point of view, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion :)! #MakeObamaPresidentAgain
Donald Trumps game plan (GONE WRONG)
Trump wants to get some "efficient" people in office to "make America great again". According to him it doesn't matter if it's, "making cars, producing steal, or curing diseases", sounds pretty tight. He is going to withdraw from trans continental partnership and according to him, 'this could be a potential disaster for our country". What the actual fuck... he literally said the first thing he will ever do in office is a potential disaster for our country? The second thing Trump will do is take away all laws that limit non-renewable energy so we can fuck up the earth more. BUT WAIT! Its all going to be all good because he says he will make jobs. He also is banning executives lobbying (speaking out/ against) the US.... Tight
here is a quick video summarizing my interpretation of the quality of work Trump is doing.
here is a quick video summarizing my interpretation of the quality of work Trump is doing.
Trump and national particularism
Watching history change with your own eyes; Trump becoming the 45th president and the women's march conducted on every major cities I have a few thoughts about why Trump attracts some people. Don't get be wrong I'm a democrat and this doesn't mean I'm supporting him, but I wanted to analyze Trump's strategy from fair standing point. Trump has been using roughshod expressions in speeches to whom he considers it would bring disadvantages to himself and his supporters, and this was derived from the fundamental belief of national particularism. US had been playing the role world's police in where it would military contain other countries to maintain democracy, and this goes beyond forces as US contributed and developed the world's economy. Yet at the same time there were people who were frustrated in how US was involved in the world: they would question why help other countries if it's not benefiting US? Why increase military budget just to keep military forces in the far East Asia? Why continue NAFTA if it's doing more harm to our own economy than good? Trump took advantage of these concerns and indicated US would be ran on national particularism which boosted his support. We already know right wings supported him, but as he addressed this stance it also gained a large number of support by the other conservatives. Moreover by using extreme language and criticizing specific targets; he was able to have a charismatic vibe with him, and managed to pull the impossible.
Why the Kicks Game amazes me
The kicks game amazes me in so many things. First of all the epitome of all sneaker heads dreams, Jordan's. Michael Jordan's. The babe ruth of shoes, the ferrari of cars, the king of all royalty, His Airness. Michael Jordan, perhaps the greatest player to ever step on the court, created his signature shoes in 1984. This became the hottest shoe to ever hit the market, but something that has always amazed me was how Jordan's went from, Competition to Commodity. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the market, my brother's been a sneaker head since I could remember, so I get the occasional special release that comes out every few months, but I never understood how they became so extravagant. For example a pair of Air Jordan "Space Jam" 11's, a resale value could be upwards of $600, compared to being retail for $175. Something like that really amazes me, a shoe could make someone about $400 every time they can get their hands on a pair. Huge crowds like below occur in millions of retail stores around the United States all for a pair of sneakers to wear on your feet. I find it so fascinating that this one person, some say to be something of a god, created a pair of shoes to play basketball in, and generated over $1 Billion dollars in his life. I want hear what others think, because I love the shoes, but it just amazes me how the value has increased.

MLK March
The March from last week was very inspirational. I have never seen so many people united marching for what they believe and seeing so much diversity throughout the March. Speaking & protesting for racial justice, solidarity, Martin Luther King's legacy , and with Donald Trump as our president(NOT MY PRESIDENT) that we the people decide and not some person who has a lot of bigotry was really dope. I will never forget this moment because seeing a very powerful atmosphere roaring the city of Oakland, speeches that we're very compelling, and seeing many posters about equality, injustice, etc.
How I picked my Senior Project
Shockingly enough, my senior project idea has been a question that has perplexed me since 7th grade. When my brother was a Senior in High School he discovered he had extreme ADD. Finally being diagnosed, it only solidified what my brother already knew about himself. From a younger sister perspective, even I could tell he had it. This was through countless conversations with my brother about how he could never focus in school and always had to run around in the backyard after school because he had "so much energy to burn after sitting for so long." After being diagnosed Michael told me that he knew he had it his whole life and always resented my parents for never getting him prescribed Adderall so he could "have the same benefits that people like [him] get." Hearing my parents defense of not wanting him to be dependant on a drug that wasn't necessary to his health so early on in life, made my perspective on subject change into a confusion. I started to wonder if all the kids who are dependant on Adderall to focus are really better off. This question has been in my mind ever since, and not so shockingly enough my opinion has continued to change. As my brother went onto college he discovered that after years of struggling to figure out how he learns, it finally clicked. Without medication he was able to find ways to cope with his ADD and thrive. About to graduate from Puget Sound, I thought nothing could be more suiting than to study the question that has perplexed me for so long: Does prescribing young children adderall help or hurt them in the long run?
White House Website Changes
Less than 2 hours of Donald Trump being president they had already removed the LGBT, Abortion/ Planned Parenthood, and Climate Change pages off of the White House Website. The LGBT, Climate Change and Abortion pages were all removed, without a trace of the hint of the advancements made by Obama while he was in office. Donald Trump said during an interview, “I have been for traditional marriage. I am for traditional marriage, I am for a marriage between a man and a woman.” He also believes that gay couples should not have the same benefits as heterosexual couples. No matter what their beliefs, the mere act of wiping the White House website clean of LGBT history. The progress that has been made for the LGBT community is nowhere to be found. It's sad to know that we have all made a huge progress but now we are going to have to take a few steps back. Both the president and vice president are openly anti-abortion and have called to defund Planned Parenthood and overturn the monumental Roe v. Wade case, which legalized abortions. I don't think that we should be defunding Planned Parenthood at all. They are there to help people out with free health care. Planned Parenthood should not only been known for doing Abortions but as free health care to anyone that needs it.

Executive Order On The Pipeline
President elect Trump has just made an Executive Order that allows the Dakota pipeline to continue to be built. This decision just overturned the one that former president Obama made this past year. Donald Trump has no sympathy for the individuals that are fighting to keep that area as it was before. By throwing out Obama's original order, Donald Trump has made me realize that this is slightly reminiscent of when Hitler decided to get rid of parts of the government so he could stay in control of Germany
Realization
So far in global the topic that has really stood out to me was our whole study on police brutality and crimes based with killings because of someone being another race. Today I was looking in the news and there was an article that said "Boy, 16, Killed in Apparent Drive-By Shooting Near Hayward" and it really shook me not just because of the age, but because to think about how people do things like that and put others in deathly or harmful situations that they have no control of. Its also eye opening to really think about how when people do stupid things like this they already are doing it with the purpose to get away and live the rest of their life with knowing that they killed someone or seriously ruined someones life/their families life. The reason that I was comparing this to what I have learned in global is because now when I see things like this I wonder what if that person just thought a little more about it before actually firing a gun towards a group of killing and ending a teenagers life.
Stop giving
Since this school year started Its been hard for me to go and actually do some school work. I spend my time doing other things and I don't really worry as much about school work. Sometimes its weird how Im just home and I decide not to work and I don't even stress about it anymore. There are days where I know I have to study for a test and I just don't I guess I prefer trying to study 5 minutes before the test. I feel that I need to get my things together for this senior project so that I don't have a crappy project. Hopefully senioritis doesn't hit me that hard in this last couple months that we have left.
My Senior Project
The first time I brainstormed a topic for our senior project I chose fashion, however that was very broad idea in my opinion. So I went a little deeper. The past year I've been very passionate about the world of streetwear and the different types of clothing lines there were. The start of the new year I created a fashion page on Instagram that purposely showed my interests clothing styles. It's not just what you wear, but the clothes you put on describes who you are and how you feel. Growing up was the same thing, each outfit I wore I had a name for it. I was inspired to create this account because both my sisters have accounts and they post on the daily about their lives and hobbies. As I create this documentary I hope that it will reflect on the actual fashion world however not what the media overshadows. I already found multiple sources to back up my purpose, and soon enough the whole film will be set. I'm glad I chose this topic because it doesn't just reflect my personal interests but others as well. If you want, you can go follow: @threadtheories
Fashion Icons
Fashion in today's youth has become a main priority in many teens lives. Decking yourself out in the new latest and hottest pieces is a trend that skyrocketed recently. The main reason behind this is because of the new upcoming rappers. A lot of these rappers are trying to be fashion wizards in the game to gain more and more popularity with each wardrobe. Rappers like A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, and Lil Uzi Vert are the main icons in youth today. Many kids throughout the world look up to these guys like they are some type of prodigy. Whatever they wear, you try to wear. These specific individuals have the power to start trends based off the clothing they rock. Brands like Supreme, Vlone, Nike, Bape, and Gucci are almost essential to these rappers. Kids today are willing to pay top dollar for them because they are the most poppin' items on the market right now. A question I ask myself is, what if these fashion icons suddenly start the trend to wear clothes from a retail store. What if they all of sudden start wearing target brand tee shirts? Will everyone else wear them too since your favorite rapper is wearing them? #FuckSwag and enjoy this picture of my outfit im stuntin on these lames.
Womens March
Unfortunately I was not able to go to the march on Saturday, however after seeing everything that happened it gave me hope about our future. This was not a march to protest Trump coming into the presidency but a movement to show that we cannot go back from all the progress america had made. In one day we showed how united a group of people can be and that no matter what happens we will fight for whats right in order to protect everyones rights so they can live a life where one day maybe all majorities will be equal to a rich white male. Hopefully this movement will lead more people to be aware of the problems in society and get more people to fight back. If I had the chance to go to the march or a future march i would go, not only for myself, but for all little girls and boys and any minority so that they know that they will be protected and loved and that people are fighting so they can have a better life.
Why I Marched Last Week
Everyone who showed up to march on Saturday January 21, 2017 did so for his or her own personal reasons. I marched to make myself feel better. It was competely selfish. I wanted to be with people that would remind me that America is ultimately good. That optimism is alive. That democracy is still the prevailing sentiment in our United States. That kindness and compassion are still our core values. That strangers are not to be feared. That women's rights are important universally, not just for women, but for everyone. That the government is for the people and by the people, not something that is done TO the people. I marched because I wanted to be a role model for the young women around me who still take so many of their "rights" for granted.
The next day I found this article online and it pretty much summed up my feelings. Powerful stuff.
I'm Sorry. You are not equal.

The Difficulty of Analyzing Nazism
For the past few weeks, it's been really hard to force myself to read articles in the HBB reader, or to pay attention during the documentary. It's really easy to just say, "They're Nazis. They're not normal people. Why should I care what any of them have to say?", and I've had to keep myself from doing just that over and over and over again throughout this process. It's really hard to listen to these stories, mostly because of how atrocious some of them are, (You mean they killed disabled children? Ones who had never done anything wrong?) but beyond that, I've mostly seen Nazis as cartoonishly (sometimes literally) evil villains my entire life. It's so much easier to think that Nazis would never talk or act like the rest of us, that I would be able to spot someone who believed in Nazi ideology from a mile away. But the people in the documentary aren't like that. They almost sound like any random person on the street, until you listen to them and go, "What do you mean you Jews controlled all of the media? That's never been true!"
And there's the tough part. It's impossible to truly understand an event unless you can at least comprehend the motivations behind both sides' actions, but that's really difficult to do with something as horrible as the Holocaust. It's so much easier to ignore why Hitler's ideology became popular, not just because of laziness, but also because of how damaging that can be emotionally. By far the easiest choice is to say, "They hated Jews. Case closed," without asking why an entire nation was willing to hate a small and harmless group of people.
Protocols of Zion
After viewing the documentary, it surprised me more how ignorant people can be and how easy it is to deceive them. It was very entertaining watching the different views people have and how far they will go to back up a conspiracy that has no evidence of being true. Like the guy that was blaming Pepsi and Coca Cola for being run by Jews, it was very interesting seeing his logic but also depressing to see that there are more people out there who actually believe these things.

Conspiracies
After watching the Protocols of Zion, I was intrigued by the fact that so many people are able to buy into conspiracies. I am not one who usually buys into conspiracies, but I do understand the logic behind it all. As more people begin to follow an idea, it becomes more "reliable". If powerful, popular, or wealthy people believe in some idea, it can be seen as though that it HAS to be credible because smart people believe it. Going off of that, people are willing to follow others without any proof. If it sounds like it could be possible, then there are people who believe in it. They also do not necessarily need to believe the whole thing in order to listen to it. That is the same for a lot of people, those who believe in conspiracies or not. Once someone is basically fixated on their own opinion, the idea of confirmation bias comes into play. Confirmation bias is the concept that people only look for and interpret any information to "confirm" their idea that they have thought of. This is hard not to do, but plays a huge part in the growing support of conspiracies. Although conspiracies may seem as though crazy to one group, the other may see it as a perfectly good explanation to events that have taken place. Everyone has the desire to believe in something and a conspiracy is something that people can hold onto.
Here is a link to some of the most popular conspiracies here in the US.
http://www.alternet.org/culture/10-most-popular-conspiracy-theories
Conspiracies and the Protocols.
Throughout last week we watched a documentary about The Protocols of the Elders of Zion. I was so surprised the whole duration of the documentary. It is hard for me, as an openminded person, to understand that there as people who have such large misconceptions about the world they live in. I could not imagine having such oblivion to people and culture around me. I also find it really hard to watch people like the man from the white supremacist organization hold so much hate for so many people. I was curious if the man who made the documentary told the white supremacist that he was Jewish. I also found it very impressive that he remained composed even when people were bashing his whole religious upbringing and using all these slurs.

Senior Project Got Me Bent Already
I'm not gonna lie i'm stressing about this damn senior project and what I wanna do with the documentary. One how am I gonna record my people that I interview, I don't have a camera its looking rough, my phone probably enough data to even keep all those videos on my phone, and I don't even know which topic I really wanna do. I am stuck about two and I even did two different proposals. I already know this gonna be hella stressful down the road, because a lot of stuff is not gonna go how it is planned, and I'm probably gonna stress myself out with it by not getting it done right away.

Conspiracy Theories - a profitable industry?
There is no question that during impactful, controversial events in history (such as the JFK assassination or the 9/11 attacks) some people will believe some sort of radical theory to explain the event. However, there are also those that realize how lucrative these ideas can end up being. As shown through the Protocols of Zion, a book based on a conspiracy theory can be sold out even if it was written over a century ago. Realizing this, certain organizations simply sell these books whether they believe the conspiracy themselves or not, as they are aware of the money that they can possibly obtain. Essentially conspiracies are compelling ideas and stories; while some might not seem very realistic, it doesn't change their popularity. People are constantly looking for new, exciting new topics and especially if a conspiracy theory is based on a person's virtues then it becomes likely that they are willing to buy a product that describes the theory in greater detail. Within the last century media has also now become highly widespread in which these ideas can also be spread through television and radio broadcasts, constantly attracting a larger audience. Through podcasts, books and even merchandise many conspirators have produced an affluent industry based on these radical ideas, whether it is about the global conquering by the Jews or if Tupac is still alive living on a private island.

Who is Dylan Roof?
Dylan Roof is a young white male that lives in america, and was really noticed by everyone in the past year. Dylan Roof has been all over the news and media, and not for good things at all. Dylan Roof had one day went into a african-american church and shot and killed 9 people with a automatic rifle. This was a very big investigation and why is this so important to talk about. The treatment that Dylan was given, had raged many riots and protest within black lives matter movement. The treatment that Dylan had got was when the police ran into church to stop Dylan they did not shoot to kill, knowing he was a dangerous man and had a automatic rifle, still thought the best interest is to bring him in and protect him from the people in the neighborhood. Black people that were aware of this investigation really felt like that was unfair and they felt like if that was a black man they would have shot and killed him without even thinking twice about, why because his skin changes the look of how dangerous he is. Society is more scared of a black man without a gun, than a white man with a rifle, that makes no fucking sense, many black have been shot for thinking they had a weapon on them, and this little white boy gets special treatment, bulletproof vest, and escorted to the police station safely. Another situation tha brought many people angry in the black community was the fucking justice system and police tried to defend Dylan by saying he was mentality ill. See that's why society is fucked and we are not equal, the police first thoughts when seeing a white man do something crazy like this their first thoughts is he is mentality ill and needs help, but a black man and minorities their thugs, pyschos, and terrorist. This case really was important for me to keep tabs on, and for months I waited for them to even convict him of anything, and they recently convicted him with a hate crime, and some murder charges. I think they finally got something right and I really hope those people that died get their justice, because all they did that day was go to church and pray and find love from loves ones, and they got killed by a racist piece of shit.
What makes people do what they do?
I believe that people are, at some level, insecure about themselves. Humans are naturally born to be social. People tend to have the idea that they must be a certain way to liked by others. Even though people do their best to live up to the social standard, there will always be that idea that there will always be someone achieving that standard better than them. This makes people feel almost worthless. This puts people in a position where they feel they have to know that someone is doing even worse at achieving the “standard” so they know that there is someone that is “lesser” than themselves. This puts people at ease knowing that they are not the furthest away from the standard. So the first thing people do when they meet someone else is look for a quality that the other person doesn’t have.

Seeking differences for identity
An early idea instilled by the reading has been that people have and continue to identify themselves more as different rather than similar. As shown in the reading, both the Native Americans and Europeans distinguished themselves as different due to difference in language and clothing. However, this is not the main reason for seeking differences. According to Maslow, in a human's hierarchy of needs, self actualisation and self-esteem are of highest priority. When we meet new people, we naturally want to distinguish ourselves in order to maintain a unique identity. Based on how we perceive these differences we can have very different ways of approaching a person or a group; most commonly one might approach thinking that they are superior to another or vice versa, which happened between the Europeans and the Native Americans.

The Power of Symbols
Imagine you're walking through the quad at lunch and you walk by a student with a swastika arm band. You'd probably freak out, but why? The swastika is an ancient symbol that dates back around 11,000 years, and used in ancient India, China, and some countries in Europe. It symbolizes auspiciousness(success), luck, or existing. But now we see this symbol as a sign of hate, Nazism, and death. Even though this symbol was used more than 70 years ago for the Nazi's, to this day it isn't socially acceptable to use/wear this symbol.
