4/20 has brainwashed us
4/20 has brainwashed everyone to celebrate this day for national weed day. The world has accepted this day for a plant called marijuana is celebrated through out the world, where a bunch of people are smoking marijuana and having good social events. One of the big events that many people attend is going to Hippie Hill in San Francisco, and where there is a big concert and lots of people come together and have a good time and smoke weed. I am not shaming this day for the celebration of weed, but something happen on this day that gets respect that it needs to. 4/20 is the day that Harriet Tubman had first used the underground railroad to free slaves from their plantations. Harriet Tubman was a hero to african-americans and was probably the bravest thing to do at the time, and this gets no respect that it truly deserves. She not once used the underground railroad she did it many times, even when white plantation owners knew this was going on and wanted to kill her for basically stealing their "property" (slaves) and helping free them. I believe this is way more amazing then the discovery of marijuana, she took slaves from the south lead them to the north following the north star, and going through the rough terrain of the south. 4/20 will probably forever celebrated for national marijuana day and there is no problem with that, but I will just like to give my respect to Harriet Tubman for her courage to stand up for her people and what she believed in.

I love how you are able to shine light on an event that many forget about. This seems like a common pattern, when significant events get overshadowed by another event. It would be interesting to see if 4/20 is celebrated differently depending on where you are in the US.
