Senior Project Blog Day 1-3

Today, May the 4th, we saw 3 documentaries 1 about teen pregnancies, 1 about education, and the final about private prisons. When discussing the teen pregnancies I thought there was a really good point made across, that parents who are young should attempt to continue life with their education in mind. I think it is important to maintain education throughout high school and college so you can support your family in the long run. The second documentary was about education in America vs. in other countries. I thought it was super interesting to hear that the US was about half way in terms of ranking our academics. Finally we discussed private prisons, and I thought that it was weird to see that California had built 22 prisons since the 80's, and that it was very interesting, but not surprising to hear that we've tripled the number of inmates since the 70's.
